Accesserty ALLY
ALLY is an active-maintenance signal for verified domains. It shows that a site maintainer is willing to receive and follow up on accessibility reports. It is not a certification or compliance guarantee.
What ALLY represents
Some sites really do want to address barriers people report, but that work is often hard to see. ALLY turns that maintenance commitment into a public signal that Signal can show.
ALLY is not a badge, audit, or legal decision. It simply says that a verified domain has a maintainer willing to receive and track reports.
Who can apply
Website maintainers must register a domain in Console and verify through Pulse that they can maintain that site. A paid plan is not required to apply for ALLY.
Application process
- Register and verify the domain
Sign in to Console, register the domain, and install the Pulse script. The domain is verified after its first event is received.
- Review and handle Signal reports
Verified domains can review Signal reports in Console and record their status.
- Submit an ALLY application
If the site is actively handling accessibility issues, submit an application in Console. Every application is reviewed by a person.
What needs to continue
- Continue reviewing and handling Signal user reports.
- Review reminders and plan appropriate follow-up.
- Do not present ALLY as proof of full WCAG or legal compliance.
ALLY is not permanent
ALLY depends on ongoing maintenance. Accesserty may revoke it when reports remain unattended, reminders receive no response, or the site no longer shows active maintenance. Revocation does not remove domain verification.
A revoked domain cannot reapply for three months. After that, the maintainer may apply again once its report-handling process has improved.
